About Fertilizer
Mineral, organic or biological fertilisers undergo different regulatory pathways in the EU and the member states.

Substances, mixtures, micro-organisms or any other material intended to be applied to plants for the purpose of provinding plants with nutrients are fertilising products according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1009. The regulation distinguishes between organic fertilisers conatining carbon and one or more nutrients of exclusively biological origin, organo-mineral fertilisers, which are a blend of organic and inorganic fertilisers, and inorganic fertilisers, meaning mineral fertilisers containing or releasing nutrients in a mineral form. Products that have the function to improve nutrient use efficiency, tolerance to abiotic stress, quality traits or the availability of nutrients in the soil or rhizosphere are considered biostimulants.
